Treasurer’s Report

  • Total Cash Assets: $60,083.38

  • Total Inventory: $4,080.50

  • April Income: $1,696.07

  • April Expenses: $4,309.45

  • April Net Income: -$2,613.38

  • YTD Income: $18,686.99

  • YTD Expenses: $10,511.61

Membership Report

  • Total Members: 184

Trap Report

  • Young Life Event: Successful with 65 shooters; $630 profit.

  • Upcoming Event: 10-shooter bachelor party scheduled for Thursday, June 5 at 3 PM.

  • Trap 3 Rebuild: Still pending word from CPW regarding funding.

  • New Clay Targets: Delivered — thanks to those who helped unload.

  • Trap League: 24 shooters signed up.

Youth Trap Report

  • Total Youth Shooters: 52 (High School team and 4-H combined)

  • Thanks from Jake: Expressed appreciation for club support.

Rifle Report

  • No report.

Rimfire Report

  • No report.

Pistol Report

  • Tuesday Night Shoots: Cancelled this week due to rain. Weekly shoots vary (military/hunting rifles, rimfire/centerfire handguns, steel, pins, etc.). Loaner firearms are available.

  • Pistol Range Container Painting: Volunteers needed. Date to be set; an email will go out requesting help.

Old Business

  • Absentee Voting for Board Elections:

    • First vote (April): Passed (5 for / 4 opposed)

    • Second vote (May): Passed (9 for / 5 opposed)

    • Bylaws amended to allow absentee voting.

  • Monthly Newsletter & Social Media:

    • Still in progress.

  • Unapproved Roads (North of Trap Range):

    • Jake is waiting for Kevin Burdges to update the plot plan and stake boundaries.

  • Lead Shot Reclamation Project:

    • Ongoing; significant lead recovery underway.

  • Use of Hand Throwers:

    • April: Allowed for members if used safely; restrictions apply during club events.

    • May: Jerry Steinauer raised concerns; motion passed (10 for / 3 against) to prohibit use of hand and/or spring-operated portable throwers on the Trap Range outside of organized events.

  • Clubhouse Porch Covering:

    • Greg Newton obtained revised estimate: $1,100–$1,300.

    • Motion passed (11 for / 0 opposed) to approve, subject to city approval (required by lease agreement).

New Business

  • Trap Range Use – Tuesday Nights:

    • Concern raised about unscheduled use.

    • Clarified: Organized shoots are Wednesdays and Saturdays. High School team make-ups may occur during the week and will be posted. Any other events must be approved by the trap chairman and posted to the club calendar.

  • Meeting Procedure:

    • Harold Palmer noted Robert’s Rules of Order are not being followed consistently.

    • Board acknowledged and will be more diligent.

  • Salida Gun Shop Family Day – May 17, 9 AM–4 PM:

    • Featuring: Police, Fire, EMS, CPW, 4-H Shooting Sports, food trucks, dunk tank, giveaways.

    • All are welcome.

  • Friends of the NRA Support:

    • Jake F. inquired about club involvement. Jim D. requested more information. Jake will invite a representative to a future meeting.

  • Concealed Handgun Permit Classes:

    • Rex Roberson will not offer CHP classes this year. May offer 4-hour renewal classes in July and September if enough interest.

  • Practical Pistol Match Proposal:

    • Rex & Angi Roberson requested to host monthly matches (4th Sunday, May–Dec, 7 AM–1 PM).
