Rifle Report
There are two new NRL/NRL22 barricades on the rifle range. There is a tank trap and a pyramid ladder. These are available for our members to use to shoot from as barricades. If you use them, please move them back to the side of the range when done so that they don’t interfere with other shooters that may be shooting from the benches at a different time.

Old Business
Grant Update:
The information provided at the last club meeting regarding the CPW grant being revoked seems to be false. There was apparently a mistake on the original form that was corrected. CPW is processing the request and working on issuing the purchase order. This will allow us to start the process of replacing trap house three.
Credit to Kristin Huston and Greg Newton for their diligence on this issue.
To ensure eligibility for future grants, we need to increase and show public engagement through events like ATA shoots, youth programs, and open competitions.
Rex will investigate getting our weekly trap shoots, weekly pistol/rile shoots, turkey shoot and other activities into the What’s Happening section of the paper.
NSSF First Shot program. We will revisit this in May.
Clubhouse Porch Covering:
Updated estimate: $1,100–$1,300
Motion approved (11–0), pending city approval (required by lease).
Status as of 8/6: No progress reported.
Rex will reach out to Andrew Rice regarding what permission is needed from the city.
5-Stand Enclosures:
Proposal to build 6 enclosures for 5-stand machines.
Cost: ~$900 each / $5,400 total
Design: Cement pad + steel lockable cover, forklift movable
Motion passed unanimously to proceed.
Purpose: Expand club use and add additional disciplines, especially for youth shooters.
Jake is doing some last due diligence to ensure we have the best design we can.
Clubhouse Water:
Preston has volunteered to fill the water tank at the clubhouse. Thank you Preston!!
Clubhouse Refrigerator:
Current unit is no longer functional.
Matt Harutun has a refrigerator to donate.
Rex and Matt will work on getting it to the club.
We will need to find a way to get rid of the old one.
ATA Scoring Laptop:
Current computer is outdated and malfunctioning.
We spent ~$800 on a new laptop and printer for the trap scoring software.
Trap Field Expansion:
Plot plans of trap field confirm space for additional trap/skeet fields.
We will need an updated lease with longer / irrevocable terms to justify expense of expansion.
Volunteers needed to assist Jake Farber in planning/presentation to the city.
Contact Jake Farber if interested. 970-471-2369
Pistol Range Targets:
Proposal by Ron Teke to install a dueling tree and gong set on pistol range,
Rex and Art will survey the range to determine installation locations, including integration with the plate rack.
We will present and take a vote on this at the next meeting.
9/3 – Rex is requesting approval to spend approximately $1,500 on steel targets for both the pistol and rifle ranges in an effort to remove the unsafe steel that is currently on the rifle and pistol ranges with steel rated to be shot and provide additional resources for the members to enjoy.
Pistol Range – ~$750
5 – 3/8” AR500 gong targets and one 3/8” AR500 6-plate dueling tree
Install on the right side of the range along with the existing plate rack
Targets will be painted blue
Rifle Range (Centerfire) – ~$300
½” AR500 gongs
4” @ 100 yds; 6” @ 150 yds; 8” & 10” @ 200 yds
