Pistol Report:
Rex Roberson & Jake Farber built 5 steel target stands and 6 steel popper targets for the pistol range. Rex also built 4 additional walls for the pistol range with wood donated by BVSC member Matt Harutun and Rocky Mountain Lumber. These will be used during weekly shoots and competition events.
Rex also did maintenance on the movable target stands at the pistol range including replacing broken wood pieces and installing new backing material.
The first winter weekly pistol shoot will be on November 5th at 10am. Check the club’s website calendar for dates and details.

Trap Report:
Trap start time changing to 11am from Nov 1st – March 31st
Turkey Shoot dates are November 19th & 20th. See the club calendar on the website for more information.

Old Business:

  • Rex - Rifle range sign and storage container (20’)

    • Sign design approved – Rex will order

    • Upon approval from property owner, we will purchase a 20ft container for the pistol range.

    • Cost is $2950+tax

  • 2023 GunShow update

    • Dates are April 21-23, 2023. See the club calendar on the website for more information.

  • Don Wallace – Bench Rest Rifle Shoot

    • Sunday, November 13th for the first event.

    • First Sunday of the Month starting in December

    • Sight in 8am – 10am

    • Shooting starts at 10am

    • Center fire rifle

    • One Shot cost $1

    • Shoot from 200 yards & 100 yards

    • Weather permitting

New Business:

  • Wednesday and Saturdays trap shooting will now start at 11:00 through March 31

    • Website calendar updated

  • John Hulkonen - Group texts when Wednesday or Saturday trap shoots are cancelled due to weather.

    • Rex will look into a notification system for our events

  • Website update - Rex

    • New website is up and fully functional

    • Get Linda access to website and up to speed as backup for Rex

  • Sponsors on the website. Can anyone list or does there need to be some level of club support from the business?

    • Businesses that are listed on website should provide some support to club or discount to members.

  • Turkey Shoot Dates Announce.

    • November 19th at Trap Range 10am,

    • Novermber20th at Rifle Range Sight in 9am, shoot at 10am

    • Classes include: Hunting rifles, scoped and un-scoped rim fire, big bore pistol, small bore pistol, buddy shoots, luck shoot

    • Hams & turkeys as prizes

  • Nominations for 2023 Officers are in December, voted on in January.

  • Proposed changes to bylaws

    • Date to have annual dues paid by Jan 1st instead of March

    • Change NRA membership to recommended vs. required

    • Notice to members – update to using electronic communication (email) instead of USPS

    • This will be discussed further and brought to membership to vote

  • BV Police Department wants to join the club in 2023. 12 officers.

  • Rex would like to put on a monthly Summer Pistol Competition

    • Match ideas include Bowling Pin, Rimfire, Steel Challenge, USPSA/IDPA Style Course

    • Club will support – Rex to develop further and present to the board

  • Doug Drier and Brad K. would like to reshape the berms at the rifle range to improve the sightline to the 100 yard and 200 yard targets. They would like to rent a backhoe this weekend. $480
