THIS WEEKS COURSES OF FIRE
- Gun Movement Drill, Steel Challenge Stages Smoke & Hope and Showdown

SHOOTING EQUIPMENT
- GUN - Any semi-automatic handgun that is in safe working condition. Revolvers are welcome but if shooting a revolver please be aware of the number of rounds we will be shooting on this week's course of fire. You will need to be able to reload your revolver quickly.
- BELT/HOLSTER - Optimally we would like you to shoot from a holster. However, we understand that some of our attendees may not be comfortable drawing from a holster yet and that is ok. If you prefer, you can start from the low ready position.
- EXTRA MAGAZINES - Some of our exercises include reloading the gun so we do suggest you have at least one extra magazine for your gun.
- EYE & EAR PROTECTION - All attendees must wear any time range is hot.

ROUNDS NEEDED
- 100 rounds - Preferred round calibers for Steel Challenger are 22LR and 9mm but most handgun calibers are welcome.

SKILL FOCUS
-
Grip, sight alignment, trigger, drawing from holster, target transition.

SHOOTER SKILL LEVEL
- All shooters are welcome; however, we do expect that you have a good understanding of gun safety, a safe gun handling mindset, you are comfortable loading / unloading your firearm and manipulating the slide. If you don't feel you meet this level please contact Rex Roberson, 303-253-1920, prior to attending the shoot.

WARMUP DRILL - Gun Movement Drill – 18 Rounds Needed
- Our target will be a blank 8.5" x 11" piece of paper. There will be 3 stages to this drill.
- Stage 1 - While moving your gun back and forth across target pull the trigger when sights are over the target. The gun should never stop moving back and forth.
- Stage 2 - While moving the gun up and down over the target pull the trigger when sights are over the target. The gun should never stop moving up and down.
- Stage 3 - While moving the gun in a figure 8 pattern across the target pull the trigger when the sights are over the target. The gun should never stop moving.
- This drill is intended to get you used to pulling the trigger while your gun is in motion. The technique we will be focusing on is called using a flash sight picture vs. point shooting or a focused sight picture.

STEEL CHALLENGE COURSE 1 - Smoke & Hope
-
You will need a minimum of 25 rounds for each round of this course. If you have 5 magazines, please bring them. If you don’t, please bring as many as you have for your gun.
- Don't be discouraged by this course. The idea here is to get comfortable transitioning from target-to-target array while standing in one spot. This is not a competition so don't worry about shooting fast.

STEEL CHALLENGE COURSE 2 - Showdown
- You will need a minimum of 25 rounds for each round of this course. If you have 5 magazines, please bring them. If you don’t, please bring as many as you have for your gun.
- Don't be discouraged by this course. The idea here is to get comfortable transitioning from target-to-target array while standing in one spot. This is not a competition so don't worry about shooting fast.

I look forward to seeing you there. Please reach out if you have any questions.
